How Long Does it Take to Heal?

In my journey as a shaman, one question I am often asked is how long does a certain technique (such as a soul retrieval) take to work? How will I know if it works? How will it feel?

The short answer is: I don’t know. No one will know for sure until it’s over. The thing with shamanism as a healing practice is that it is a very, very individual process. The shaman doesn’t do the work of healing. We start the process, and the client finishes it. As with all forms of healing, the desire to heal is paramount, and dictates more than anything the end result. If the client truly wants to heal in the first place, they will do the work required. When the shaman returns from their journey, when they restore that soul part to the client, that is the beginning of the healing story, not the end. Many people do not seem to understand this.

To give a personal example of how long it took to fully integrate a lost soul part: I spoke in an earlier post about receiving a soul part that I had lost before I incarnated on earth the first time. After getting this soul part back, one of the changes I experienced was a desire to shave my eyebrows. So, I shaved my eyebrows…and I felt like leaving them that way until only this past month. Now they are almost fully grown back in. I felt I no longer needed to not have eyebrows. That soul part was now fully integrated. This soul retrieval had taken place back in April of 2015. It is now December of 2016.  It took 2 weeks to feel the effects of the soul retrieval, and a year and 8 months to fully integrate that soul piece and complete the healing process.  Your results could be much shorter or longer.

In short, if you are looking for a quick fix to a problem that has been going on for years, you are not going to find it. Anywhere. A shaman doesn’t offer quick fixes and magic pills. Even an allopathic (traditional western medicine) doctor won’t offer a quick fix, although they may have a pill or two to mask the deeper issue. True healing is a personal endeavor. Results will vary.
